Comics , Webcomics
This is an awesome comic, and both the product and the website would be impressive for one of the major comic book companies, even more so considering it's an indie just getting started. The website lets you order issues of the comic, as well as related artwork and merchandise, and track convention appearances and other related information from the creators.

This one is highly recommended, especially for comic book fans, but even for average users!

Official , Electronics
I'm a big Apple fan, and while I usually buy stuff in the Apple Stores, I've shopped on their website before. I also use it to keep track of updates, get answers to support questions, etc.

Unsurprisingly, Apple's website excels when it comes to design. It's also very functional, despite a few confusing organizational decisions. The support features are nice, although you have to jump through some hoops to get "official" answers, as the entry-level questions are handled by the community, who may not know the solution to your issue.

Still, for what most users need, Apple.com is a great resource.

Software , Graphic Design
ImageOptim is a great way to compress image files, especially for websites.

The official site is fairly spartan, but then you don't really need much of a site for something like this. It gets the job done, does everything it needs to do, and gets out of your way.

A good site for a good program. Recommended.

E*TRADE

E*TRADE

Stock Trading , Business
This is my current choice for stock trading. The services are simple and straightforward, and it does everything I need it to.

The only problem I have with it is that the layout can be pretty confusing, if you're trying to do something new for the first time. There are menus within menus, sidebars, sideboxes, and way too many readouts for someone just getting started.

But if you're looking for a way to start investing and you don't mind sifting through some pretty dense pages, there are definitely worse ways to start than E*Trade.

Revolutions

This history podcast is the work of Mike Duncan, who wrote and narrated the epic 'History of Rome' podcast.

So far he has covered the English (very good), American (excellent) and French (very good) revolutions. All in lots of detail, from the 'seeds of change' that led up to th...

I think the site looks dull now. I hope it evolves into more modern design. And also consider user experience.

I heartily agree with the reviews on this podcast series left so far by other listeners. I've not yet listened to Mike Duncan's History of Rome podcast (though I'm now inspired to do so), but the History of Byzantium podcast is a tour de force from Robin. He has done a sterling and balanced job...

I have found the History of English podcast absolutely riveting; in fact, I 'binged- listened' my way through the first 100 or so episodes, and am very relieved that there are clearly many more to come :-). History via etymology - a great concept, well-delivered by Kevin. Highly recommended.

It's so amazing that we have the opportunity to listen to so many years of history is such a fine detail. It's a marvel of the modern world. Thanks for doing this, Robin!
