Etsy is an e-commerce website focused on handmade or vintage items, supplies, as well as unique factory-manufactured items under Etsy's new guidelines, released in October 2013. These items cover a wide range, including art, photography, clothing, jewelry, food, bath and beauty products, quilts, knick-knacks, and toys. Many sellers also sell craft supplies such as beads, wire and jewelry-making tools. All vintage items must be at least 20 years old. The site follows in the tradition of open craft fairs, giving sellers personal storefronts where they list their goods for a fee of US$0.20 per item. As of August 2013, 30 million users are registered on the website and by the end of 2013, projections of one million sellers and over US$1 billion in total annual transactions have been announced.

I am an Etsy shop owner, called The Broken Sprocket. I sell homemade steampunk and fantasy jewelry. Etsy is a great site for homemade things. To find anything you may be into at decent prices. As a seller the interface is easy and user friendly. They help you keep track of you finances and are very helpful with issues.

Its so cool to know that people are wearing my designs out there, and i am part of that. I have done wedding jewelry, birthdays and gifts. And to know people saw what i make for fun and wanted that in their big days, its such an honor.

You can use Paypal, checks and card for your payments, and is very easy to sing up. I highly support this site and recommend it to users.

I'm a bit fan of this site! As a HUGE Doctor Who fan, it's great to be able to find unique, kitchy, Whovian gifts for myself and my buds.

And of course, Etsy has more than just geek-centric gifts; I was able to find my mom a beautiful Italian olive wood cutting board- something I couldn't find anywhere else!

If you're looking for a unique item, save yourself some time and come here first! You're likely to find it, all while supporting a freelance artist!

I'm a huge fan of this site! I have bought lots of products here, mostly great handmade clothing but also so many things for my wedding - cake toppers, favors, veil, shoes, etc. It was so great to have a place to find unique items that expressed my individual style and were still very affordable. I'm also a huge supporter of small businesses so I love that their is an online marketplace for artisans to sell their goods!

I like that the site has a messaging system built in so you can communicate with the vendors, though not all the vendors seem to use it so it's not completely reliable.

Dear Travelzoo,

This is a love letter. Are you beautiful? Mmmm... you're pretty but let's not be hyperbolic and say you're gorgeous. I mean, you're definitely not fugly or anything! (4 stars!) You could try a little harder but we all know that it's what's on the inside that counts....

Such a fantastic podcast!
Duncan has a knack for narrative history, taking all the disparate stories and facts and weaving it all together into a story that's fun and engaging.
It's also very well researched.
Would highly recommend to anyone with an interest in history.

I think the site looks dull now. I hope it evolves into more modern design. And also consider user experience.

I heartily agree with the reviews on this podcast series left so far by other listeners. I've not yet listened to Mike Duncan's History of Rome podcast (though I'm now inspired to do so), but the History of Byzantium podcast is a tour de force from Robin. He has done a sterling and balanced job...

I have found the History of English podcast absolutely riveting; in fact, I 'binged- listened' my way through the first 100 or so episodes, and am very relieved that there are clearly many more to come :-). History via etymology - a great concept, well-delivered by Kevin. Highly recommended.
