Music , Audio Streaming

Pandora Internet Radio (also known as Pandora Radio or simply Pandora) is a music streaming and automated music recommendation service that serves as "custodian" of the Music Genome Project. The service, operated by Pandora Media, Inc., is only available in the United States, Australia and New Zealand. The service plays musical selections of a certain genre based on the user's artist selection. The user then provides positive or negative feedback for songs chosen by the service, which are taken into account when Pandora selects future songs. The service has two subscription plans: a free subscription supported by advertisements, and a fee-based subscription without ads. There are also ads in Pandora Mobile for mobile phones and the Pandora in The Home computer appliance.

While listening, users are offered the ability to buy the songs or albums at various online retailers. Over 400 different musical attributes are considered when selecting the next song. These 400 attributes are combined into larger groups called focus traits. There are 2,000 focus traits. Examples of these are rhythm syncopation, key tonality, vocal harmonies, and displayed instrumental proficiency.

I have used this site to find so many new artists over the years. The human genome project, or whatever they call it, really works fantastically.

I think my only complaint is that no matter what channel I create, no matter where I start, I end up listening to the Red Hot Chili Peppers.

I hate the Red Hot Chili Peppers.

Pandora is great for finding new music that you like. I usually use Spotify for all of my music needs; however, when I want to actually discover some new songs instead of listening to songs that I know and love, I come to Pandora. There's not as much of an option here to listen to a specific song that you want, but if you just want to listen to a specific genre of song, this is your place. I do wish you could skip songs more often than you can, since a lot of the time I'll have used up all my skips and just have to turn the sound down while I wait for a song I don't like to finish since I can't skip it. It's also neat that they show information about the song and the band while it's playing - I personally love reading the lyrics while I'm listening to the song, so it's a great feature in my opinion.

This podcast is amazing. A lot of history shows do synopsis but too few do analysis. This one balances the story of the past with deepening an understanding of it in a way you would never expect. I love architecture and this is accessible enough for a general audience and sophisticated enough for...

The Ancient World is the history podcast I enjoy the most. That is saying a lot, as I have listened to over forty series. TAW is the only one I have listened to three times (so far) in its entirety! On average, each episode has a much higher density of information than most history podcasts. A bi...

The History of England is the best history podcast on the planet - bar none.
Why? Let me count the ways....
First, Englands history is a great story. Second, and most important is - David Crowther. That's all it takes.
David Crowther loves English history. It makes a differen...
