History of Rome, beyond being of fantastic quality and enjoyment, also has had a powerful effect on the world of podcasting. I listen to many, and a large number of creators credit Mike Duncan for inspiring them to venture into the field.

It is not hard to see why.

He adds personality, wit, and understanding to a fantastically deep subject.

If you only look up one history podcast, it should be this one.

One of the great history podcasts. Mike's greatest skill is his ability to walk the line between novice and expert. I always felt informed and entertained without being patronised or overwhelmed. Throw in his sense of humour and command of tone and you have a podcast that will stand the test of time.

Strange decision to use Comic Sans as the font for the titles of the website headings.

I could not find a way to navigate away from the homepage to any deeper links with more information. One would expect that the left skyscraper section would be hotlinked to more examples.

Born as a clickbait, arbitrage website completely devoid of any substance or content - it somehow took that concept and made it worse.

A heavily biased so-called "news" resource - HuffPo is hypocritical in nearly every possible aspect. It preaches equality and diversity, and yet it's boardroom is nearly completely composed of white women. It claims to be strongly for diversity, and yet it practices no diversity of thought whatso...

Once one of my favorite sites to navigate, learn useless trivia, and waste hours on - Cracked has gradually descended into clickbait, heavy politicized liberal slam pieces, and generally has grown more and more akin to Buzzfeed in recent years.

The interesting thing is that althoug...
