Happiness is Homemade

Kids , DIY

Hi there! I’m Heidi, a Northern California mom and homeschool teacher to three energetic boys (ages 5-10), and I am married to one incredibly handy and handsome electrical contractor. I love creating, and my favorite thing to do is to re-purpose old “junk” into new treasures. Aside from being an up-all-night crafter, I’m also a writer, graphic and interior designer (at least that’s what my college degree says!), DIY enthusiast and party planner extraordinaire.

I love polka dots, painting everything in sight (usually pale yellow or mint green), and daydreaming about a bright white kitchen makeover (it’ll happen some day!). I love collecting vintage sheet fabric, cute coffee mugs, and half-finished craft projects.

I started this blog in 2010 as a place to document the arts & craft projects that I was doing with my boys, and it quickly grew and expanded to include a lot more. Today we showcase recipes, crafts, DIY projects, home and holiday decor, lots of printables, and creative inspiration for the entire family! I hope you find something that inspires you here at Happiness is Homemade, so stay awhile and take a peek around!

Such a fantastic podcast!
Duncan has a knack for narrative history, taking all the disparate stories and facts and weaving it all together into a story that's fun and engaging.
It's also very well researched.
Would highly recommend to anyone with an interest in history.

I think the site looks dull now. I hope it evolves into more modern design. And also consider user experience.

I heartily agree with the reviews on this podcast series left so far by other listeners. I've not yet listened to Mike Duncan's History of Rome podcast (though I'm now inspired to do so), but the History of Byzantium podcast is a tour de force from Robin. He has done a sterling and balanced job...

I have found the History of English podcast absolutely riveting; in fact, I 'binged- listened' my way through the first 100 or so episodes, and am very relieved that there are clearly many more to come :-). History via etymology - a great concept, well-delivered by Kevin. Highly recommended.
