This is my favorite online retailer. I've spent well over a thousand dollars on the site, and it is NOT because they have great deals. In fact, you could often find better deals elsewhere. And they offer modest shipping times compared to other retailers. So why shop at cool stuff if it isn't the best deal or the fastest?

1) KILLER search function
It is unbelievable to me how powerful their search is for specific trading cards. When I'm building a "magic the gathering" deck, I often use their site to find applicable cards that might fit the theme because it is in many ways superior to the official Magic site.
You can find the cards in half the time, and then, of course, the prices and availability will be right there!

2) Customer Service
Given that I've bought maybe 1000+ individual items from large games to single cards, it is impressive how infrequently an order has had an error. But when it did happen, it was fixed quickly and professionally.

3) Better layout, more intuitive purchasing, and clearer UI than the alternatives.
When you pull up a specific card, the text is visible, and every possible edition is presented with a thumbnail picture. There is no need to go to a third party site to figure out which one you want.

4) price is "what you see is what you get"
I love how negligible prices are for shipping cards. no need to do mental math to figure out if it is worth it to you or not. $1 total for pretty much any number of singles is so sane that it it is surprising.

In short, the site is very enjoyable to use, include a silly little level-up features as you to get bigger and bigger discounts as you spend more money.

I've shopped at many places but I'll probably stay with cool stuff for 95% of the rest of my gaming purchases.

If you are a die-hard magic fan, there is no better resource for inside information.

Mark frequently answers north of 100 questions per day. This is incredible access to one of the most important game designers for the game.

He's got a great sense of humor, and a deep understanding of how creativity and game design works.

There are two areas of excellence in this podcast that make it very useful and enjoyable:

1) Explanation of the Subject
Islam contains a great amount of jargon, and yet the podcast is accessible to those who don't know the jargon, because it is introduced slowly and well defined. It is presented very well in a narrative style, but full of historical context to understand what is happening. It is wonderfully interesting and quite binge-able. There is a lot to be said for any history podcast that goes to this level of depth, but still offers this depth in bite-size segments.

2) Structure
Somehow, this is the ONLY podcast that I listen to that has the following structure:
A) very brief intro
B) next segment of the story
C) optional end notes that includes additional explanations, audience questions, and podcast administration.

EVERY podcast should be of this format. It boggles the mind that so many podcasts put long ads in all the strangest places. Or those that take forever to get started. It is clear that Elias is respecting our time.

There is a lot of good (for small amounts of money), with a very shady dark side (for large amounts)

The sudden ease of use that OTHER websites experience if you have a paypal account is a great advantage. The setup can be annoying, but this pales in comparison to the benefit in making small online purchases.

Just be careful if you use it for LARGE amounts of money. If a lot of money will be coming in, it trips a lot of red flags.

Since Paypal isn't a real bank, they don't answer to the FDIC...or anyone.

They can lock your account without warning, and it will be up to you to prove your innocence. And they can make it impossible for you to do so.

To have an impressive profile, you'd want to make it while you are an employed professional. The effort required is minimal, and if it were a deciding factor in getting a future job, it would be worth it.

However, it doesn't feel particularly useful.
Just set it up and forget about it.

My go to site for setting my expectations for a movie. If you just want to know whether or not to have lots of excitement about a movie, just check to see if it has a high score.

The fact that it separates professional critics and users is very useful.

You go into a movie with different expectations when the critics loved it and the audiences were unsure, compared to the other way around.

A true one-stop-shop for figuring out if a movie is worth seeing.
The ability to see the trailers and synopsis is what allows you to forgo other resources.

It is not clear exactly how they figure out if a critic review is positive or negative. The actual reviews are sometimes given a "fresh" rating when the review is generally negative, and vice versa, but it is relatively accurate.

If you want to share one image, it is extremely user-friendly. You don't even need to be a member of the site. This makes it a great source for people who want to limit how many things they sign up for.

However, managing albums is non-intuitive, and frustrating. you really have to nail it on the first try, or editing an album becomes strangely difficult.

Top rated content is shared on the front page, but it gets there from community voting, and the experience of perusing these is ultimately disappointing due to the limited variety and low "hit rate" of excellent content.

Additionally, the looks are slick, and staff is visible.

Don't let my ratings fool you, this site has excellent content.

The Good:
* Free-form style comics. The artist takes the space required, and blends the panels nicely together.
* A unique perspective. He has a clear sense of wonder about the world, and has the tallent to portray this excitement in a humorous way.
* Content that matters. Many of the comics are swing from their humor to a potent relational truth.

The Bad:
* It is surprisingly non-intuitive to traverse. It isn't clear why it strays so far from the tried and true formulas.
* The art style is quite unappealing. It only works for the content that is intended to be weird/gross.
* Ad placement is excessive and distracting

The Oatmeal gets my "like", but it could be so much more.

This site is an Aesthetic nightmare.
That said, you can fix the look and feel of the site if you find the content compelling, but you have to look into how to do so.

Site setup is easy, but you make your profile WELL before you are given payment options. What this means is that you get invested in the site, and then you are shown the rates, which can be a bit shocking if you have never used a dating site before.
I highly recommend finding a promo code for the site before starting.

Additionally, creating your profile is easy, as there are lots of prompts to help you know what to put and where. It can feel a little pushy sometimes, but it is probably for the best that you follow its lead with such things as "add a 2nd picture to your profile".

The initial contacts are also intuitive and, by design, you cannot directly talk to people. You can send ice breaker style questions to someone you are interested in, or you can request permission to go right to chatting, but the other person would need to agree.

A few problems that I've found:
1) if the site breaks, it is not rapidly fixed, though it was fixed
2) if you live in a very small town, you'll get hassled to expand your preferences. for instance, when I lived in Alaska, it wanted me to allow matches up to 6 hours away by car.
3) as you start discussions with people, the message chains try to bury themselves under your other contacts. there is no way to make someone a primary interest, and thus see what they have said to you easier.
4) you end up doing a LOT of scrolling to keep track of everything the site throws at you.
5) there is a "pause" function, if you start to date someone, but like many fringe features, it is hard to find.

My experience was negative in the small town, but positive in the large town, even though I've not found someone who fits me yet.

The site also includes a lot of helpful articles on dating subjects in general, that are unrelated to online dating.

I'm a cord cutter and love hulu. They do a great job of providing up to date programming for most shows and the service is quite reliable. Their original programming isn't quite as good as their competitors, but pretty darn close. My main gripes are, 1) No CBS of CW shows, so I have to use differ...

Good follow up to the History of Rome. Clear Narrative, I like that he generally sticks to mid-length episodes, but alters the length when needed.
